GoDaddy WHOIS Database
WHOIS is a query and response protocol that is used for obtaining information about a specific domain name. The WHOIS Database is a queryable database that stores WHOIS information for all domains that are registered with GoDaddy. You can use the Database to find out who owns a specific domain, when the domain was registered, when the domain will expire, and more.
What is the GoDaddy WHOIS Database?
WHOIS is a database that stores information about registered domain names, including the name, address, and contact information of the registrant. The Database is a collection of WHOIS records that are maintained by GoDaddy.
What information is included in the WHOIS Database?
GoDaddy provides two WHOIS options: Registrar WHOIS and Domain WHOIS.
The Registrar WHOIS displays information about the registrar, registrant, and contact information for the registrar account associated with the domain name. Domain WHOIS displays information about the domain name itself, such as when it was registered and when it will expire, as well as contact information for the administrative, billing, and technical contacts associated with the domain name.
Both types of WHOIS display similar kinds of information, but there are some important differences to keep in mind. For example, Registrar WHOIS will never display GoDaddy customer contact information (such as an email address or phone number), while Domain WHOIS will only display customer contact information if the domain name is not registered with GoDaddy.
How can I access the WHOIS Database?
To access Database, please follow these steps:
- Log in to your GoDaddy account. (Need help logging in?)
- Under “My Products”, select “Domain Manager”.
- Select the domain name you wish to manage, then click ” WHOIS Database” under “Domain Details”.
- You’ll be taken directly to our WHOIS Database results page for your domain name.
By submitting a WHOIS query, you agree that you will use this data only for lawful purposes and that, under no circumstances will you use this data to: (1) allow, enable, or otherwise support the transmission of mass unsolicited, commercial advertising or solicitations via direct mail, electronic mail, or by telephone; or (2) enable high volume, automated, electronic processes that send queries or data to the systems of any Registry Operator or ICANN-Accredited registrar, except as reasonably necessary to register domain names or modify existing registrations.
